Pontprennau Primary School is one part of the Pontprennau Community. It strives to be the centre of this community whilst having high expectations on the teaching and learning its pupils will experience. All stakeholders should feel that they belong to a high performing, supportive and vibrant School Community.
Aims
Pontprennau Primary School aims to be a ‘Beacon of Excellence’ in all of its work, shining a light out in multiple directions with its work recognised and respected across Wales and beyond.
We aim to provide pupils at the school with consistently high quality teaching and learning experiences coupled with high expectations and high aspirations of what they can achieve.
We aim to develop well-rounded, academically capable and socially aware life-long learners who demonstrate the skills and attributes to continue their life beyond primary school.
We aim to ensure everyone’s health, social, emotional and wellbeing needs are met so they are in the best possible position to learn effectively.
Values
We value ‘Excellence of Effort’ – We recognise the importance of sustained, consistent effort over time. Progress will be enhanced with focus and effort. Such effort will be praised and recognised.
We value ‘Safety’ – Every member of the School Community should be safe from harm, discrimination and bullying. We will proactively work to keep everyone safe.
We value ‘Respect’ – We must show kindness and thoughtfulness to others and to our environment. We will be inclusive to everyone’s needs. We will promote the importance of health and wellbeing.
We value ‘Responsibility’ – Whilst valuing the need to work with others, we must also recognise the importance of taking responsibility for your own actions and outcomes.
