This week our story stimulus is the well known and loved story "The Gruffalo".
The children have listened to the story and together planned activities that they would like to do in the classroom.
We are also all looking forward to our trip on Tuesday too, which will definitely enhance the children's learning experiences back in class.
Language & Literacy
In addition to our phonics, individual and guided group reading sessions, our focussed literacy this week will be writing about our visit to the Gruffalo trail.
Mathematical Development
In our maths session we will of course continue to practise our counting skills but we will be focussing on counting on 2 more than a given number using number lines and hundred squares.
Creative Development
Every child will have the opportunity to paint their favourite character from the Gruffalo story, mixing the colours they need for their art work.
The children will also be working on creating a large Gruffalo natural collage to be used on our cloakroom display.
Welsh language
In addition to our daily Welsh sessions the children will be using their Welsh language to describe the colours and body features of the different animals from the Gruffalo story.
