"I love you this much" - measuring

 

"Guess how much I love you" Said Little Nut Brown Hare.

"I love you this much" he said as he stretched as far as he could.

 

After listening to the story of "Guess how much I love you?" the children practised reaching as high as they could and as wide as they could.

Then the children explored ways of finding out if our painted version of  Big Nut Brown was bigger or smaller than them. 

Using a variety of mathematical language and their counting skills the children measured how tall Big Nut Brown Hare was, how wide he could stretch and how long his feet, arms and ears were!
