Week Beginning 11th June

Due to the Inset on Monday, the school week will start on Tuesday (12th June) this week.

Our literacy focus will continue on Tuesday. This has involved the children making their very own binoculas or telescope to search for cards with sea creatures on them in our outdoor area so they then can write sentences about them in their books. We have been looking at using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.

Our other literacy focus task will begin later on in the week when the children have listened to the story 'The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch' which will include the children making lists of items of food.

Within the creative area the children will have the opportunity to make their own lighthouses and draw, paint, chalk and pastel drawings of real life lighthouses.

Also, its Fathers Day on Sunday! Look out for a lovely creative surprise dads from your little ones (which will also be used as evidence for our Summer display) and a tasty treat!

Within Maths, the children will focus at looking at the difference between 'light' and 'heavy' and counting in 2's and 10's during our carpet input sessions.

Our daily carpet sessions will include; Phonics, Literacy, CLIC (Maths) and Welsh. During the week the children will also have opportunities to participate in Music, I.T, Cookery, Gardening, PE and Library sessions. Once a week we run a carousel whereby the children all engage with Guided Group Reading and also experience other activities including Dough Disco and Digit Dancing, a variety of activities to develop their fine and gross motor skills, story time and Write Dance.

On Fridays, we are happy that Miss Peate has started Forest School and the children will rotate so they get the experience.
