W/C Monday 20th June 2016
We have another busy week planned for all of the Reception children.
After a great first week of our new context for learning, we are looking forward to some more lovely activities this week.
Language & Literacy
Last week, the children wrote postcards about their trip to Barry Island... they are in the post so keep an eye out for them!
This week the children will be making boats. They will be writing a list of the materials they used and will be reflecting on whether they managed to make a boat that would float. They will be writing about ways they could improve their design.
Mathematical development
This week in our maths sessions the children will continue to learn to tell the time.
The children will look at digital and analogue clocks and will be reading o'clock and half past times.
Creative
The children asked to have some sea creatures in the classroom.
This week we will be having lobsters and crabs in the classroom on ice!
The children will have the opportunity to look at and explore the creatures.
There will be plenty of opportunity for observational drawings.
Remember, weather permitting, we will be having our sports day and family picnic on Friday.
If the weather is hot this week, we would be grateful if you could dress your child appropriately with a sun hat if required and ensure they come to school wearing sun cream
