Autumn Term 1

Our topic this term is "Street Detectives!"

In Literacy we have been learning the poem "The Sound Collector" by Roger McGough. The children have been hard at work creating story maps and exploring sound in the outdoor area. We have been discussing our favourite sounds and which sounds we would collect if we were the sound collector.

In maths we have been looking as number bonds to 10 and using the facts we know to work out even harder number bonds to 100. The children have been excellent at spotting patterns in numbers and creating number bond cities and towers using maths resources.

In our topic work we have been exploring traditional "street games" such as Ringer, noughts and crosses and hop scotch. We have also been designing our own dream houses, making them and then evaluating them with our friends.
