December 9th 2018

We had a wonderful trip to Greenmeadow Community Farm last Tuesday.  We were extremely fortunate that it was the only rain free day of the week and the children were able to participate in all planned activities. We watched the Nativity acted out by farm animals, went on a bumpy and exciting tractor/trailer ride and visited Father Christmas in his grotto, as well as exploring the farm. Thank you to all parents for ensuring that the children were suitably equipped for the weather.

We have been practising hard for the Reception concert which will be held at 2pm on Tuesday 11th December. Thank you for providing costumes and please enjoy the show!

We have continued to work with money in maths, setting up ‘shops’ and encouraging the children to find the correct coins to pay for items. Many of the children said that they had explored coins at home. Please continue to encourage this and involve your child in shopping trips.

In Literacy, we wrote letters to the friendly elf that delivered a Christmas tree to each class. After writing a shared group letter the children were keen to write their own letters independently. They were also busy exercising their creativity to make decorations for the trees.
