Our math focus this week is on adding 1,2 and 3 more. The children are completing tasks involving money and playing a variation of snakes and ladders.

In Literacy we are using story boards to write and draw the key parts of the story of St Nicholas.

Through our topic work, the children are exploring food chains. We are looking at producers and consumers as well as the transfer of energy along the food chain.

We are continuing with our Guided Group Reading (GGR) and related activities.

The enhanced provision this week offers opportunities to complete colour by number activities, painting fairy lights on a string (using cotton buds), creating our own snakes and ladder boards, making programmes of our performance and drawing story maps.

Year 1 also enjoyed a visit this week from the local church, who came along with a number of Christmas craft activities and games for the children to take part in. This session was thoroughly well received by all. We are very proud of the children for their excellent behaviour and participation.
