Would you like to join the FoPPS team? 

We are a group of parents and carers who meet regularly to plan, organise and deliver events and activities that raise funds to support the school with things that our children can benefit from.  We bring our own skills and knowledge to the team and work really well together, sharing out tasks and learning new things - whilst having fun along the way!

How do I become part of the team?

At our AGM (Annual General Meeting), as per our constitutional requirements, all current committee members will stand down and some will then put themselves up for re-election. 

If you are interested in joining, please reach out and speak to one of the current members to find out more about us (https://www.pontprennauprimaryschool.co.uk/committee-members/).  If you'd then like to apply, you can send in some information about yourself - tell us what skills you can bring, why you'd like to join etc., but we welcome all interest!

You will need to submit your interest to: Fopps@pontprennauprm.cardiff.sch.uk before the AGM as all new members will be voted on at that meeting. We will provide more information about the AGM closer to the day.

What would I be doing?

You would be joining us at our regular committee meetings to plan and organise fundraising activities - we hold our FoPPS meetings several times a term (a bit more if we have a big event coming up), usually at 6 or 8pm on a night to suit the majority.  In the past, this has often been at the school or a local coffee shop - but more recently, they are usually held via Zoom or Teams. They generally last a maximum of 2 hours. We also expect all committee members to be able to attend most of our events (a date we all agree in advance) to help set up, run them and tidy up afterwards. 

If you are voted on, we will register you as a Charity Trustee with the Charity Commission (as all the committee are) which has certain legal conditions attached. (We are happy to share these if you'd like more information). It's a friendly, fun and hard working bunch and we'd love to have another more members join us!

I don't want to join the committee but can I still help out?

Yes, absolutely! We are always in need of extra volunteers to help at our events. Whether you're able to spare an hour to help set up or run a stall or have a business that would like to sponsor an event or donate a raffle prize or maybe you just fancy dressing up in an elf costume and helping Santa either with his sleigh or in his grotto? Just get in touch and tell us how you'd like to help!
