Our context for learning overviews
We teach through half term or termly contexts for learning and will keep you updated on what exciting experiences we have got planned each week. Please see below for an overview of our context for learning which will give you an idea of what exciting experiences the children may have during the context.
Just to say we all hope you have had a wonderful break and enjoyed some quality time with your child. As a team we are really looking forward to the new term ahead and would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for your continued support during the first term in Year 2. A special thank you for all of the lovely gifts, cards and warm wishes we received at the end of term. We look forward to seeing your children bright eyed and bushy tailed on Monday!
Happy New Year to you all.
The Year 2 Team.
Weekly learning experiences
Please check this section regularly to see what learning experiences are being offered to the children each week.
What have we been doing this week?
This week in literacy we have been looking at writing thank you letters. We have also been developing our sentences, using different connectives and ordering words to make them more interesting.
In maths we have been revisiting our number bonds, near bonds and adding 10 and 11 to 2 digit numbers.
In our welsh lessons we are talking about the weather using the days of the week to describe how the weather is on each day.
We have also been making some electronic books about the RNLI and have done some cool experiments using water jelly!
