This week we spent our Geography lesson looking at the Iceland advert called 'Rang-Tan'. The advert focuses on the issue of rainforests being destroyed to grow and produce Palm Oil. The children learnt that Palm Oil is used in lots of different products, from foods and packaging to toiletries and shampoos. They became very passionate about the issue and even caught Mr Veryard out when he brought products into school that contained Palm Oil.
Your homework this week is to look around your house and search for products that may contain Palm Oil. You may need the help of a grown up to do this. Count up how many you have in your homes and spend some time talking to your families, explaining the issue and the ideas we came up with to help change the world!
