A big thank you to everyone who supported our sports day last week.
We have another busy week planned in Reception.
Language & Literacy
Our story focus for this week is The Rainbow fish.
There will be lots of opportunities for writing about the story and the children will also be working on spelling their high frequency words.
Mathematical development
This week in our maths sessions the children will be practising reading larger numbers and will be learning to break the numbers down in to tens and units.
The children will be using the Squiggleworth character to show what the squiggle in each number is really worth.
The children will also be working with ordinal number, having fish races and discussing which came first, second, third, fourth etc...
Creative
The children really enjoyed having the lobsters and crabs in the classroom last week.
This week the children will have more fish in the classroom to explore, observe and draw.
If the weather is hot this week, we would be grateful if you could dress your child appropriately with a sun hat if required and ensure they come to school wearing sun cream.
