Autumn 1: What makes a good mixture?

What makes a good mixture?

A potion, a poison, a mixture, an aromatic brew, a vapour, a liquid, a recipe, a sticky goo or even a mixture of people! Welcome to the amazing magical world of mixtures and their properties. Now scientists, beware. There are some powerful and deadly potions out there, dangerous, unpredictable or tragic (just ask Romeo and Juliet.) Use what you know about materials and their properties to create potions. Now scientists, beware! There are some powerful potions out there – dangerous and plain tragic!

In this inquiry, we explore texts such as George's Marvellous Medicine, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, and even William Shakespeare's Macbeth!

Beginning with a fantastic interactive experiment day (including mentos and cola explosions!) and ending with an exciting enterprise juice bar, this inquiry is packed full of interesting knowledge and experiences.
