We teach through half term or termly contexts for learning and will keep you updated on what exciting experiences we have got planned each week. Please see below for an overview of our context for learning which will give you an idea of what exciting experiences the children may have during the context.

A polite request
Please could we politely ask that parents try to avoid coming in to the Nursery cloakroom area at the start of the session. It can be overwhelming for the children as it fills up very quickly. Please feel rest assured that we will help your child with their coat and bag if they need help to take it off and put it on their peg.
Please could we politely request that if you need us to give out party invitations to the children, that you place them in plain envelopes with the child's name marked clearly on the front.

Ways to help at home
We practise name writing and number recognition each day in Nursery.
If you practise writing your child's name with them at home, please remember to use lower case letters rather than capital letters after the initial letter of their name.
Lots of our parents have also told us that they are introducing their children to letters. In school we teach the children letter sounds through our Phonics scheme rather than letter names in the alphabet.
We will be providing plenty of opportunities to develop your child's scissor skills. Many young children find using a pair of scissors challenging. If you are able to provide opportunities for your child to used scissors at home, it will allow your child to gain confidence with their snipping and cutting skills.
