Week Beginning 6th February 2017

We are so excited because this week we are going on a school trip!  We have really enjoyed learning about all sort of vehicles and we will be using three different modes of transport on our trip - bus, boat and land train!  We are travelling to Techniquest, and when we get there we will go on a journey to Space!  We can't wait to see what it's like to travel on a rocket.  We have been singing a song about space.

We will continue to explore ramps and things that roll in our construction area.  We now have long ramps, short ramps, smooth ramps and even bendy ramps! In our outside construction area we have added more crates and ramps, different sized wheels, and real tools.  We are getting really good at making creative and imaginative vehicles!  I wonder if we will see rockets this week?

We will be continuing our challenges and this week we will be ordering numbers 0-10 and 0-20.

In Maths we are looking at measuring length, distance, height and weight.  We will be having paper aeroplane races and seeing who's aeroplane flies the furthest!  We will still be practising our number pairs to 10, and doubles facts.  Please see the songs page for things you can try at home.

In Literacy we will continue to retell familiar stories, by drawing and writing from left to right on a story map.  We will also have a go at writing our own stories.  Maybe some about our journey on a rocket ship?
