W/B 25th September 2017

Language, Literacy and Communication

This week pupils will be planning their own short story. They will continue to use the book ‘The Way Back Home’ as a stimulus and will talk about what they think happened to the alien after he left the moon. We are looking forward to hearing the children’s ideas.

Mathematical Development

Following on from our number work, pupils will be learning about place value and how much each digit is worth in a number e.g. 13 is one ten and 3 units.

Physical Development

PE takes place on a Friday. This half term Mr Jones’ class are lucky to have members from Cardiff City football club teaching them ball skills and team work. Mrs Bailey’s class will be following the gymnastics programme.

Creative Development

Jingle Bells! Jingle Bells! Jingle all the way!

Yes it is only September but this week the children will be designing their Christmas cards so they can be sent off to be professionally printed ready for you to buy. smiley

Pupil Voice

Every fortnight we ask pupils for ideas to enhance the classroom areas based on our topic. We have had lots of lovely ideas this week. For example; make alien crowns, build an alien city, use chalk and black paper to create our own galaxies and use fabric in our small world are to create different landscapes for our aliens to visit.
