Autumn Term 2

Our new topic is "Reduce, Reuse, Recyle". We will be hard at work thinking of ways we can help the environment! We would love it if you could bring in any recycling or pots and pans, interesting objects, jars and pots for us reuse within the topic.

WC 18.11.19 & 25.11.18

We are well and truly into our topic, and have learnt about lots of things that we can do to keep our planet healthy.  We have made posters for our 'GO GREENER' campaign, which begins this Friday 22nd November. We are asking for (clean!) recycling, especially small bits and bobs such as buttons and lids. Thank you to those that already have. We will reuse the materials to make art work and Christmas decorations ready to sell in our Christmas shop.

In Literacy we will learn the song 'The 12 Days of Christmas' and will be innovating this and turning it in to our very own Christmas concert! We will be thinking of characters and nouns, using alliteration - e.g. 5 dinosaurs dancing. We will be composing and role-playing character scenes, and will turn this into a play script. We will use speech bubbles and thought bubbles in our writing. Character parts will be sent home by the end of the week.

In Numeracy we will continue to practise using blocks and rulers to measure objects. We will be adding or taking away 1, 2 or 3 from numbers up to 20.  We will be paying for items in our shop role-play, working out different ways of paying each amount. E.g. If something costs 10p you could use a ten pence piece, two five pences or ten one pences. We will begin to use our knowledge of taking away to work out change. E.g. An item costs 5p, I give the shop keeper 10p. I know that 10-5=5, so I need 5p change.

In Welsh we are learning about the weather, asking the question ''Sut mae'r tywydd heddiw?'
