Slithering snakes
Throughout the week the children were introduced to books about snakes and took part in a variety of snake themed activities.
In our creative area, the children were encouraged to identify repeating patterns and then create their own snake paintings with a repeating pattern.
In our Maths activities the children practised ordering numbers. They used their rote counting skills along with their number recognition to help them complete the snake puzzles. Those confident with numbers to ten were challenged to work with larger numbers as well as with sets of non sequential numbers.
The children also also began exploring measuring and compared a set of snakes according to length.
